Social Skate School

In the heart of the Torre neighborhood, a transformative project is born: the Torre Social School, an initiative of the Claro Movement that believes in the power of sport as a tool for inclusion, education, and social change.

More than just skateboarding — an opportunity for the future.

The project aims to create a social skateboarding school for young people in the community, offering skateboarding lessons twice a week. But here, skateboarding is much more than a sport: it's a form of expression, a space for belonging, and a bridge to new opportunities.

The coordination and facilitation of the classes is the responsibility of Mariana Rocha Assis — a professional surfer and skateboarder, world surfskate champion in 2017 and one of the main references in women's skateboarding in Brazil. Mariana brings to this project her sporting experience and her deep commitment to social inclusion, offering the children of the Torre neighborhood a unique opportunity for learning and development.

Sustainability at the Heart of the Mission

Our school also promotes environmental education. We use skateboards made from recycled plastic, showing students that it's possible to transform waste into tools for learning and fun.

Holistic Development of Young People

The Torre Social School was designed to go beyond the physical, supporting the emotional, social, and academic development of its participants.

  • Physical and motor development: improved balance, coordination, and endurance.
  • Emotional and mental well-being: reduced stress, increased self-confidence, and a sense of belonging.
  • Community building: a positive and safe environment that combats isolation and reduces exposure to risky activities.
  • Social inclusion: free access to a motivating and transformative sporting activity.
  • Sustainability and environmental education: raising awareness about the importance of reducing and reusing waste.

A Safe Space to Grow

Skateboarding thus becomes a platform for human and community development, empowering young people to believe in their potential and build new paths.
