Let the plastic get moving!

Created in 2022, TORRE PLSTIK is a project that transforms discarded plastic packaging into skateboards and other reusable objects , promoting the circular economy and environmental sustainability.

The skateboards produced are available free of charge to the entire community and to anyone who frequents the Torre skatepark, making the sport more accessible and at the same time...
contributing to the reduction of plastic waste .

Our Goal

  • Democratize access to sport;
  • To raise awareness in the local community about the impact of disposable plastics;
  • To offer circular and environmentally friendly alternatives;
  • Involve residents and visitors in the plastic transformation process.

How it Works

The Creative Recycling Unit is located in the skatepark in the Torre neighborhood of Cascais, inside an old shipping container painted by local artist Carlos Stock (Kiã) .

In this unit, the community is invited to participate in all stages of the production of:

  • Skates
  • Beach rackets and ping-pong
  • Other objects created from recycled plastic

From Packaging to Skateboarding:

1. We collect plastics of types 2 and 5 (such as bottle caps and packaging).
of detergents and shampoos);

2. The material is cleaned, crushed, and melted in molds;

3. Plastic gains a new life in useful and durable objects.

Each skateboard reuses between 1.4 kg and 3.5 kg of plastic , helping to reduce the environmental impact.
environmental protection in a creative and participatory way.

How to Participate

Workshops at the Recycling Unit

The workshops at the Torre skatepark offer a hands-on and collaborative experience .

  • Participants follow the entire production process — from grinding the lids to molding the boards;
  • They can create their own skateboards in a creative and fun way;
  • Finally, they have the opportunity to test the product on-site .

Workshops in Schools and Events

We take the project to schools and events , making recycling accessible to more people .

  • Explanation and demonstration of the plastic transformation process;
  • Possibility to customize and finish previously produced boards;
  • Testing the skateboards for a complete experience.

Open Experience for the Community

The items produced at the Recycling Unit — including the skateboards — are available for free use by residents and visitors of the Torre skatepark.

In addition, we organize events open to the community , with live music and various activities.
where everyone can:

  • Try out skateboards and other recycled products;
  • To learn firsthand about the plastic transformation process;
  • To participate in a moment of conviviality and environmental awareness.
