Launched in 2019, ReciClaro is an environmental education program developed by the Claro Youth Association in partnership with the Cascavel City Hall .
The initiative is implemented in municipal schools and is aimed at 3rd cycle and high school students , with the aim of raising awareness among students about the impact of disposable plastic and promoting more sustainable behaviors .
One of the project's strengths is that it allows students to experience the plastic waste recycling process firsthand using a set of Precious Plastic machines.
How it Works
Each class participates in two sessions — one theoretical and one practical:
Theoretical Session (1h)
- Importance of oceans in the ecosystem;
- Impacts of plastic pollution;
- Current situation of recycling in Portugal and in the world;
- Strategies to reduce the consumption of disposable plastic.
Practical Session (1h30)
With the Precious Plastic machines, students participate in three rotating activities:
- Creative recycling — creating new objects from recycled plastic;
- Educational quiz — interactive game with prizes;
- Reuse workshop — practical ideas for giving new life to waste.
